Abstract

Study has been conducted with purpose of assessing the effectiveness of planned health teaching regarding ―Awareness on Mental Health‖ among adolescent orphans. The finding of the study suggest that the adolescents had inadequate knowledge about mental health during pretest and there is significant increase in knowledge regarding mental health after administration of planned health teaching regarding awareness on mental health. The study reveals that there is no significant association between knowledge regarding mental health & demographic variables like, age, education, and duration of stay in the orphanage and relatives visiting the adolescent, however, there is significant association between the knowledge levels about mental health with gender of the adolescent.
